The message has its roots in the first book of the Bible, the Book of Genesis, where we learn that man was created in perfection (Genesis 1v31), but then lost that perfection when he chose to disobey God (Genesis 3v6). Since that day a barrier has existed between man and God, a barrier which means that man is shut out from the presence of a holy God as a result of his fallen condition (Isaiah 59v2).
The Bible describes man's hopeless condition, but it also reveals God as a God of Love and Mercy, a missionary God Who has reached out to men and women and Whose Word contains "Good News" (Mark 1v1). The Good News is that God has provided a way whereby man can be reconciled to God. This way was not without cost to God Himself for, as the Bible records, "God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3v16).
The Bible verse quoted above is worth contemplating. It speaks not only of God's provision in His Son, Jesus Christ, but also of the destiny awaiting all who have not accepted that provision. If the message of the Bible is true, it is absolutely vital that every man, woman & young person comes to believe in Jesus Christ the Son of God.
