This document describes the privacy policy of Bethany Hall’s Friends & Neighbours events, revised 31st August 2018.

1.       Where we collect your personal information

The information we hold on you is the information supplied to us when you elected to be informed of our “Friends & Neighbours” events. No other information is collected.

2.       What information we hold

The information held consists only of your name and address.

3.       Who we share your personal information with

The information we hold is not normally shared outside of the activities of the “Friends & Neighbours” events. Information is never passed on to third parties (i.e. outside of Bethany Hall), unless we are legally or ethically required to do so.

4.       On what basis we use your personal information

The primary basis for using your information is your consent. In the case of the Friends and Neighbours events, this is typically your oral consent. The invitation we give is no more than an informal reminder, and we wish to avoid causing any worry or distress by seeking to obtain written consent. Nonetheless, you have the right to withdraw your consent and have your information deleted (please refer to our data retention policy).

5.       What we use your personal information for

Information we hold is used primarily to invite you to our “Friends & Neighbours” events.  This chiefly involves having someone from Bethany Hall visit you to give you a personal invitation to our next event (normally every six months).

6.       How long we retain your information

Generally your information will be held and used until you withdraw your consent or we lose contact with you. We may also delete your details if we feel that you no longer wish to be invited or would be unlikely to attend in future. The information will be checked and updated with each visit.

7.       Obtaining your personal information and/or withdrawing your consent

You can initiate a request for a copy of the information we hold about you and/or to withdraw your consent to us holding that information by contacting us through (a) making an oral request when we visit you, (b) by email to info@bethanyhallgourock.org.uk or (c) by letter to Bethany Hall, Drumshantie Road, Gourock. We may seek proof of your identity before proceeding further.

8.       Concerns

If you have any concerns about the use of your information or if you would like us to place additional safeguards or restrictions around your information, please get in touch.
